The name started with my finding the photography of Ed Ruscha and his seminal photography book “Twentysix Gasoline Stations” published in 1963.

As a photographer looking to publish a series of photography books based on both my domestic and international travels, my staff and I were looking for a nme both catchy and representative of what we do.  After researching a number of available domain names (most of which were not available) and reviewing my library of photography books, I was looking at some of my reference books about Ed Ruscha and his first book.  We hit upon the idea of the title “26Photographs” but our first thought was - no way - it has to be taken.  Surprisingly, both 26photographs.com and Twentysixphotographs.com were available.  And as they say, the rest is history.
